everyone!
This is his wife Monique, we are safe. Just wanted to send a note that
Paul is okay..he is in N.O. with a buddy of his Art Depodesto at our
house. They are basically helping out and saving stranded animals. He
is trying hard to save the stranded animals...and keep his chin up!
He does not have internet access but his cell phone does work, call
him to say hi and for moral support anyone @ 504-259-5756. Jackson and
I are in VA safe and sound. He is also in the Sept. 12, 2005 issue of
Newsweek on page 46 or 48. Thank you for keeping up with him and I will
keep you updated.

News Update:
by Papa Razzi
In talking with Paul on Monday afternoon (9/5), I learned that he is
in fact still there, but did leave during the hurricane, going to Mississippi
with his wife and son, for safety. He then returned to New Orleans and
they went to Virginia. Paul met up with his auto repair business partner,
Art, and has been protecting his business and helping around town in
other ways. Paul mentioned that he is a deputy sheriff and has credentials
that allow him to carry guns and otherwise keep the peace. His
buddy Art is ex-military and can handle weapons quite confidently too.
The other day, they helped a bar owner friend board up his business,
after looters had pulled the burgler bars off the door by hooking it
to their truck. Recently they had to empty out a freezer full of good
meat gone bad, due to a lack of electricity. Without electricity, of
course, he has no computer, internet, land-line phone, or lights. They
do have a generator, but have not used it yet. He has a cell phone,
which he can keep charged from his car.
Paul has been quite lucky as his house has not taken on any water, as
is the same for his business, where he still has customer's cars parked.
His business caters to BMW and Mercedes auto owners, so there is quite
a booty to guard. He has computers, tools, and such other equipment
at his business which he would like to protect. He and his partner are
well equipped to stay for awhile, having been in and out of town to
get the supplies that they need. Paul is concerned about the lack of
income from his business while the city recovers, and hopes that things
will improve quicker than predicted. More later...
